Don’t miss DUALITY! What’s sure to be an amazing night as Sokaris Studios transforms Mile Zero Dance into a unique immersive visual and musical experience. The film festival launch party will include a central stage with vibrant coloured visuals on one side of the room and B&W imagery on the other. DJs will face off together at the centre stage, with immersive dance around the room. Tickets are limited, get yours in advance!

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
MZD REELING: DANCE ON SCREEN FESTIVAL
JULY 14-27
Mile Zero Dance’s REELING: Dance on Screen highlights artists from local to international. The festival will showcase artists who are devoted to capturing the moment of movement through the lens, translated into a different medium and language that transcends borders.
MZD is hosting 2 weeks of immersive spectacles of film by directors and choreographers from around the world.
FESTIVAL LINE-UP HIGHLIGHTS:
– Come to MZD on JULY 19 at 8 PM to view the collection of films. Then stick around for the festival opening party!
– DUALITY, an opening dance party in collaboration with Sokaris Studios, on JULY 19 at 9:30 PM
– Radical Dance Intensive: 2 weeks of wide-ranging classes and workshops starting JULY 14
–A late night outdoor screening by Mile Zero Dance and FAVA, on JULY 26 at 10 PM. The highlight selection will be on the BIG SCREEN and also feature The Cost of Living (UK) | Directed by Lloyd Newson, the founder of DV8 Physical Theatre!
– All films will also be released and accessible for online
– REELING features film curation by Vancouver’s Matriarchs Uprising, featuring Indigenous female choreographers
– Curation of 26 national and international shorts
