Mindfulness Meditation – Living Embodied Wisdom with Allison Ulan

Join us for open house classes on Sept 6 (by donation, suggested $10)

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. While mindfulness is an ability we all naturally possess, it is more readily available to us when we practice it on a daily basis. Participate in these weekly sessions to learn the progressive method of Vipassana  meditation to live with more self awareness, discernment and joy.

Allison Ulan

Allison Ulan started her dance career in 1987 with Ballet North.  To pursue a contemporary dance training and career, she was compelled to move to study at The Juilliard School of Performing Arts (NYC) and The Place (London UK).  Her training has focused on the fluid dynamics of contact improvisation and dance theatre. Then she had a successful dance career performing with The London Contemporary Dance Company (London UK), Kaeja D'Dance (Toronto), Nina Winthrop Dance (NYC), Livia Daza Perez Dance (Toronto), Esmeralda Enrique Dance (Toronto) and many other projects.  Her dance classes focus on helping participants embody the fluid dynamics of contact improvisation into solo work and distilling movement into compelling forms. Her classes explore moving through all levels of space to deepen body awareness and full body coordination. Plus, participants will cultivate body dynamics and self awareness in playful methods by integrating new movement patterns which are based on fluidity, resilience, release and lightness.
